I noticed that too, the effect is even worse on my 030 @25mhz :((,
sometimes it ties up the processor for about 1 minute. I usually
notice it on the google webpage http://www.google.com . The image
decoders seem to work too well, I notice on some images a slight
dithering pattern even though I have all that switched off in the
preferences.
Maybe just go back to the old decoders ?
