It can take some time depending on how busy the servers are. You may
find that sometimes the server is too busy to allow a connection (or
too full), so just keep trying, or select the navigator option from
the first menu, and double click on other servers till one lets you
on. Be warned though that the servers aren't AFAIK interconnected, so
you could connect to one with very few peopl on, and so not much
choice in downloads :)
