I know this isn't the best place for this, but I've had no luck on the IRC.

My old VGA monitor went kaput. So I crank up the miggy monitor to search
for another one online. To do this I had to invoke some black magic. I had
to comment out ( using ";" ) the monitor portion of my startup-sequence.
This was the only way I could get the miggy monitor to come up with
workbench, and be able to reset the screen to an NTSC mode. Then I had
problems with Voyager not wanting to cooperate. I couldn't even access the
MUI prefs for the Voyager screen to get it on the workbench. For some
reason Ibrowse worked on the first try without changing MUI. BTW I cannot
access the Call Inspector at all in MUI.

OK, so now I've got my 16 color screens and can get on the 'net. I find a
monitor and order it. I get it today and try to reset everything back to
normal. Problems are these:

- After restoring the startup-sequence to normal (monitor section enabled),
the computer either locks up at the point the VGA monitor should kick on, or
during the user startup partially completed. More often the prior. NB the
cybergraphics card is putting out a signal as the boot pic displays on the
monitor whenever the computer locks up during the user startup.

- No matter what I try, I cannot access the Cybergraphics screen modes in
prefs. I have re-installed CGX twice from the original disks. CGXMode also
does not work. All I get are the NTSC modes from the Screen Mode prog in
Prefs.

The CGX monitor, NTSC, and VGA monitor are all in devs:monitors. I've also
tried to remove VGA, but the same results. I don't really understand how
enabling the monitor portion of the startup-sequence is causing the lockup.
Both the HD and 3.1 floppy startup-sequence are identical in this section.

I can boot no problem off the HD if I comment out the monitor section.

I am totally at a loss. Can anyone help with suggestions?

Regards,

Mark
