If you have a fast hard disk controller and a fast hard disk this
shouldn't be an issue. Of course V has nothing to do with how lame
your drives might be :P
The solution to that issue is to only have a small cache and to prune
it often: that way the time taken to prune the cache is guaranteed to
be small.
