Uffe,
>True, a PPC card does not cost that much. I have more than once >considered purchasing one, but it all ends with the question: "Will it >be worth it?" Oh, I don't doubt the actual PPC card will be worth the >money, but will it be worth the money to put such an expensive item >into my A4000 which it getting close to ten years old... Yup. That's why I decided to sell off all but Frankenthousand and buy an AmigaOne. Well, ordered. . . well, OK _PRE_ordered the retail version with OS4. I just couldn't see spending $600 + for an early generation PPC and put it on such old hardware. Even if DCE had a better reputation for quality, I'd then end up with a great accelerator which I couldn't use when some chip went belly up on the MOBO. Not good economics. -- -- Paul Zager Proud Owner of Frankenthousand, the monster A1000 '030@50MHz, 2 megs chip/32 megs fast, 2 hard drives, OS 3.9 4xSCSI CD-ROM, SyJet, 56kHayes, 19" flicker free display Bride of Frankenthousand A4000. . . gave her life for her young The Young Frankenthousand AmigaOne, all ready to go in another big black case. . . except the MOBO and OS. _____________________________________________________________________ Voyager Mailing List - http://v3.vapor.com/ Voyager FAQ....: http://faq.vapor.com/voyager/ Listserver Help: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=HELP Unsubscribe....: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=UNSUBSCRIBE
