apologies for the delay replying - to the best of my recollection, i did
not reinstall shrew after upgrading to lion, however, i could not
testify to that in a court of law. :)

Just to be clear, you upgraded the OS from Snow Leopard to Lion and
Shrew just kept working, right? You didn't do a fresh install of Shrew?
