I'm trying to get this working.
My system is Windows 7, 64 bit. I've tried this on two different
systems.
I'm running 2.2.0, beta 2
I've imported a Cisco pcf file to configure the connection.
After reading on the list for a bit, I've determined that the "Shrew
Soft Virtual Adapter" in the device manager is never enabled. So it
seems to me that it isn't even able to communicate with the
networking interface.

If you're still having the problem, can you generate a log report using
the Trace Utility? We can use that to help you.
Here's the instructions. Remember to increase the Log output level.
