Did you figure out which patch caused this problem?
I'd also be curious, if after you re-applied the patches, if the
2.2.0-rc2 version of the Shrew client (you can find it on the Shrew
Downloads page) also has the problem. There are some known issues with
Shrew 2.1.7 on Windows 7 laptops and it's possible that maybe the
patch(es) triggered one of these problems on your machine.
