FWIW split-tunneling works fine for me when using 2.2.2 on Win 8.1 x64, connecting to a Cisco ASA gateway. Our split-tunneling is defined via policy on the ASA. As for split DNS, we've never had a need for that, so I can't comment on whether that works or not.

This may be due to some security concerns which were raised by corporate IT administrators. In theory, it could happen that a system which uses Split Tunneling could be subject to a malware attack which then will also reach the corporate network via the VPN connection. To circumvent that, the routes must be adjusted after the VPN connection is established.
