Dave, we just had a quick ad hoc webex.
Ed merged:

Update VPP CSIT verify jobs to 1604

And we’re verifying vpp patch for migrating vpp-csit-verify-virl to ubuntu16.04

    Update CSIT tests 161002 -> 161017

Unfortunately there is jenkins jobs buildup, so need to wait for gerrit3438
triggered verify job to start…

We’re coordinating now on #fdio-csit irc - pls join the party ! :)

I can provided assistance on both fronts starting from 8am PST. It would be
good to have sysadmin support as well just in case.

Ed, CJ, Possible to coordinate switchover tomorrow? We need to update
concurrently both repos: VPP and ci-management. Detail below.
So we need to coordinate with ci-management committers. Pls confirm convenient
time that works for you tomorrow.

Thanks Peter - Great job !

Ed, CJ, Could you assist us with coordinated switch-over in both vpp and
ci-mgmt projects per Peter’s points 2) and 3) as they have to be applied
Would like to do it live on Monday AM EDT/PDT and immediately verify operation
to see if any issues.

After planning and preparation phase, the infrastructure and code is now in
final phase of making the switch over to new Ubuntu 16.04.1.

CSIT commit for changes in bootstrap/topology files as well as necessary
changes in libraries is:https://gerrit.fd.io/r/#/c/3290/

VIRL job (csit-vpp-functional-master-virl) results:

In PERF job (csit-vpp-perf-master-long) currently only one out of three
physical TB is reinstalled to Ubuntu 16.04.1, the rest will be added after
switch over.

Transition steps proposal (feel free to comment):
1) In CSIT
a. Review and comment commit: https://gerrit.fd.io/r/#/c/3290
b. Merge https://gerrit.fd.io/r/#/c/3290
c. Manually produce new branch (oper-161017)

2) In VPP
a. Prepare the commit to update VPP-CSIT branch:

diff --git a/build-root/scripts/csit-test-branch
index 2b08b9b..1616b56 100755

+++ b/build-root/scripts/csit-test-branch
@@ -1,2 +1,2 @@
-echo oper-161002
+echo oper-161017

3) In CI-MGMT
a. Prepare commit to change OS parameter of vpp vefiry jobs:

diff --git a/jjb/vpp/vpp.yaml b/jjb/vpp/vpp.yaml
index 36b97a6..a3cb901 100644

             branch: 'stable/1609'

+ os: ubuntu1604
         - all

As the transition requires involve of CI-MGMT as well as VPP-DEV (specially
step 2 and 3), my proposal is to make a sync and agree on further steps.

Thank you.
