Nothing specific to collectd actually links to VPP. Steve Shin wrote a first version of collectd plugin in python that queries VPP by invoking vppctl and parsing the output (I guess we could use the python client API as well although licensing for python code is a bit special). It can extract all vpp interface stats with the proper collectd config. There appears to be a license issue. See https://collectd.org/wiki/index.php/Plugin_architecture - “The [plugin] license must be compatible to collectd's own license, the GPL 2.” Give that all fd.io code carries an Apache2 license, that seems like a showstopper.
