Guy, Regarding benchmarking VPP performance, have a look at the recent FD.io<http://fd.io> CSIT test report that includes VPP performance benchmarks. It covers number of VPP forwarding modes incl. L2, IPv4, IPv6, overlays, crypto.
Here some pointers: The CSIT rls1704 report is published on FD.io<http://fd.io> docs site: https://docs.fd.io/csit/rls1704/report/ - Performance graphs - throughput and latency for VPP and DPDK-Testpmd https://docs.fd.io/csit/rls1704/report/vpp_performance_tests/packet_throughput_graphs/index.html https://docs.fd.io/csit/rls1704/report/vpp_performance_tests/packet_latency_graphs/index.html - Measured VPP performance improvements https://docs.fd.io/csit/rls1704/report/vpp_performance_tests/csit_release_notes.html#performance-improvements - VPP configs used per test case https://docs.fd.io/csit/rls1704/report/test_configuration/vpp_performance_configuration/index.html https://docs.fd.io/csit/rls1704/report/test_configuration/vpp_functional_configuration/index.html hth -Maciek On 8 May 2017, at 16:07, Guy Doucet -X (gudoucet - FLEXTRONICS CANADA DESIGN SERVICES INC at Cisco) <gudou...@cisco.com<mailto:gudou...@cisco.com>> wrote: Hi, I have installed FD.IO on our system and am currently receiving a video stream that we will eventually be processing. We would like to do some benchmarking to evaluate the performance of FD.IO in our situation. Does anyone have a suggesting as to how this could be done.
