Hi Chinmaya,

The SRv6 T.Insert behavior is valid only for IPv6 packets as defined in the
SRv6 network programming draft [1].
It isn't possible to steer IPv6 traffic in SR policy with T.Insert behavior.
For IPv4 traffic you need to use the Encapsulation mode (T.Encaps).
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,
Ahmed

Subject: [vpp-dev] Issue faced in VPP inline mode

    Hi,
We are testing VPP (for segment routing) in inline mode on one of our
host, we are facing issue while configuring VPP.
We are creating a SR policy by using the command :

sr policy add bsid C1::999:2 next 2001:db8:1:c1:1:: next 2001:db8:1:c2:1::
next 2001:db8:1:c5:1:: next2001:db8:1:c6:1:: insert
    Here we are using
“insert” instead of “encap” since we want to use SRH insertion rather than
encapsulation. This commands runs fine for us but when we try to create
steering policy for the above created bsid by executing the command :
sr steer l3 117.117.117.0/24 via bsid c1::999:2 , it is showing an error
“sr steer: The SR policy is not an encapsulation one.”.

Are we missing out something in the configuration part?

    Thanks and Regards,
    Chinmaya Agarwal.
