I created a new thread to drill down on adj rewrite constructed using ARP/ND. I am saying, its not possible to create a control-plane entry if the rewrite is constructed from ARP/ND learning. The reason is how does the control-plane learn what ARP/ND have learnt? Does VPP support a message from data plane to control plane? Or is the expectation that a VPP node is connected to next hop and then a user configures the control-plane using ARP/ND learnt data? The control plane is reconfigured if ARP/ND data changes. If the VPP node uses 10-20 interfaces, it gets cumbersome to create entries in control plane. Also, to configure an adj in control plane, one needs a route and an ip-neighbor. The information on ip-neighbor is not complete for an interface until ARP/ND completes to interface next-hop. Once this discussion is closed, I plan to edit vpp/src/vnet/adj/FEATURE.yaml for any clarification. Thanks, Hemant
