The problem occurs before those error messages. Whatever the script does (is meant to do - ie. copy files) does not happen, and then of course the files below are missing.

Unfortunately I cannot see the errors before the ones below as they flash on the screen very quickly and get overwritten. Is the newserver script working OK for everybody else?

hmm, looks like the /etc/mtab of that vserver is
a link into the proc filesystem, could that be?
if so please remove it, and replace it with an
empty file.

is passwd installed in the vserver? if not, please
add it ...
