Thanks again ... the older 0.30.205 binaries were still in /usr/local/sbin, while the new stuff was in /usr/sbin.

Also, the vshelper info in /etc/syscntrl.conf had not been updated.

This is looking MUCH better now!

Herbert,

I'm trying to install the most up-todate versions of things before
hauling some servers out to a datacenter (must leave my basement --- OH
NO! <grin>) and have run into the following problem.

vserver-stat fails, returning:

vc_create_context(): Invalid argument

but my two vservers do start, they do run, and I can enter them.

testme.sh results:

Linux-VServer Test [V0.14] Copyright (C) 2003-2005 H.Poetzl
chcontext is working.
chbind is working.

chcontext 0.30.205 -- allocates/enters a security context

most up-to-date? we are at 0.30.209 since more than a month

btw, rc9 is out, with some fixes but also the 'dangerous'
dynamic xid option (which probably will change the default
with the final release)

of interest (I think): chcontext true returns:

vcontext: vc_xidopt2xid(""): No such file or directory

Any ideas?

yes, get 0.30.209, configure and compile it yourself,
and all should work fine ...

HTH,
Herbert

Best regards,
