Hi, I've been wondering about a traceroute issue ... It doesn't really do anything bad, I'm just surprised why it happens. Doing a traceroute from within a vserver with CAP_NET_RAW set, I always get a timeout on the first hop, liike this:
traceroute to xxx.xx (1.2.3.4), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets 1 * * * 2 so-0-2-0.cr2.fra2.de.mfnx.net (62.4.64.25) 0.662 ms 0.422 ms 0.341 ms 3 so-1-0-0.cr2.fra1.de.mfnx.net (62.4.64.34) 0.929 ms 0.683 ms 0.701 ms However, doing it outside of the vserver: traceroute to xxx.xx (1.2.3.4), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets 1 62.80.124.3 (62.80.124.3) 0.271 ms 0.217 ms 0.193 ms 2 so-0-2-0.cr1.fra2.de.mfnx.net (62.4.64.13) 0.529 ms 0.526 ms 0.503 ms 3 so-1-0-0.cr1.fra1.de.mfnx.net (62.4.64.30) 0.679 ms 0.774 ms 0.663 ms If anyone could enlighten me?
