All I was trying to do is use the list email address from the last message I found... Didn't realise the thread headers are kept and that stuffs up mailers.

obviously, it is not polite to take an arbitrary message and 'just' hit the reply button, change the subject and off you go ...
why? because if somebody uses a smart mailer which knows about threading, you'll end up changing the subject in the middle of a thread, and asking some totally unrelated questions ...
If you, on the other hand, intented to change the subject in the middle of a thread ...
