I'll try to give a short overview .. Jacques patches ended with ctx17 and a ctx17a release which promised some features for ctx18, hist stuff can be downloaded at ftp://ftp.solucorp.qc.ca/pub/vserver ctx17a requires vserver 0.23 tools to work, and will show some warnings/errors - ulimit can't set limit ... which can be solved by adding -HS in S_ULIMIT or using the 16_ulimit-unfix.diff.bz2 patch - Kernel do not support chrootsafe(), using chroot() has to be ignored for now I've done some enhancements to the vserver patches and rediffed them since around 2.4.16 ... if you need special features like disk/memory limits or per vps quota stuff, or just a patch for the recent kernels, you have to look in my places, which are 'confusing' at the moment ... http://vserver.13thfloor.at/Experimental/c17e.html http://vserver.13thfloor.at/Experimental http://vserver.13thfloor.at/Stuff/ and the older places: http://www.13thfloor.at/VServer/patches-2.4.22-c17/ http://www.13thfloor.at/VServer/Patches.shtml if you want to go for RH kernels, Alex Lyashkov provides an independant tree at which has a lot of features, but is RH specific ... http://www.freevps.com/download/ http://www.ttn.ru:8000/~shadow/snapshot/ (we are currently trying to synchronize those projects for the userspace, so maybe in the near future it will not matter which kernel patch you use ... ;) HTH, Herbert PS: there is an irc channel #vserver at irc.oftc.net > thanx in advance > > Alexander Goeres > -- > ------------------------------------------- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > tel.: +49 (0)30 / 61 20 26 87 > fax: +49 (0)30 / 61 20 26 89 > ------------------------------------------- > lieblinxNET > we do software > a Marwood & Thiele GbR > ------------------------------------------- > reichenber strae 125 > 10999 Berlin > > http://lieblinx.net > -------------------------------------------
