Archive/Restore screws with the extractor program because it resets
all the timestamps to the time of the restore instead of the original
time, so it appears that projects were created after their files. If
possible, try to convert from a non-restored VSS database.
I don't have access to a non-restored version of my database; Our
administrator only made back-ups via Archive and we lost our database
to unfixable corruption a couple of years ago. Am I simply out of luck?
Dirk, did you ever figure anything out with Archive/Restore timestamps?
I suppose as a last-ditch resort, we could have an option to subtract a
specific value from all "project" timestamps and leave files alone. Or
maybe some sort of preprocessor that made a pass through the VSS data,
looked for cases of files created before their projects, then reset the
timestamps of those projects to 1 second earlier than its earliest
file's timestamp.
