KATE Most people use Tcl/Tk because : 1. Tcl code tends to get written and debugged faster than Java 2. Tcl code tends to run as fast or faster than Java 3. Tcl code is easier to integrate with existing programs 4. Tcl code is easier to extend than Java 5. Tcl code is easier to learn 6. Tk code tends to have features people are looking for more than Java 7. It seems to me that people find they can write tcl/tk code to do what they want, rather than doing things the way Java wants them to do. -- Larry W.
