Really?

Why can't you just say:

set ::foo 1
set ::bar 2

and then use them as

puts $::foo
set mycode::var $::bar

or whatever?  I really prefer to see people using the $::variable notation,
getting people used to using namespaces - see http://wiki.tcl.tk/namespace
