Have you seen the work done by the others in the Tcl community along
these lines?  You might check <URL:http://www.teraform.com/%7Elvirden/tcl-faq/>
- in particular parts 2, 4 and 5, and look for "Continuous Media Toolkit"
which is at least one project doing conceptually similar work.  Also,
I know that Kevin Kenny is doing work at NBC on controlling broadcast
equipment - he might have some experiences of interest.  Finally, see
if you can purchase the proceedings from the past few workshops, as
I know the 1997 workshop had a couple presentations on work using tcl
to control multimedia streams.

helping folk with similar interest to find you, contact me in email
