I think this is an excellent idea, as long as the goal is to have fun with
the child and not to try to turn him or her into another Bill Gates <grin>.

The fun thing about using Tcl is that there is so many extensions and
tools out there - fun as well as serious - that it makes it more interesting
to learn.

Think about taking the "Logo" approach to teaching the computer rather than
the traditional learning approach.  Teach experimentation, etc.

Note that someone a few years ago wrote for me a set of turtle graphics
commands - they are listed over on
<URL:http://www.teraform.com/%7Elvirden/tcl-faq/> and may still work.
If not, I suspect that we who are parents would appreciate any updates
you or others could contribute.
