That's not to say that Paul himself couldn't add this feature if he wished. The
license.terms file with tk4.2 says:

<Quote>
The authors hereby grant permission to use, copy, modify, distribute,
and license this software and its documentation for any purpose, provided
that existing copyright notices are retained in all copies and that this
notice is included verbatim in any distributions. No written agreement,
license, or royalty fee is required for any of the authorized uses.
Modifications to this software may be copyrighted by their authors
and need not follow the licensing terms described here, provided that
the new terms are clearly indicated on the first page of each file where
they apply.
</Quote>

For UNIX, both the Motif-styled file dialog and the Tk file dialog are implemented in
Tcl, (xmfbox.tcl and tkfbox.tcl in your lib/tkx.x directory) and both files declare
that the license.terms apply to each file. It shouldn't be too hard to add the button
you need. (Of course it's then up to you to maintain in there throughout various
upgrades :) I'm not doing any Windows or Mac stuff so I'm not familiar with how it's
done there.

I take it that Stewart is saying that he wants vtcl to run with unmodified Tcl/Tk and
I think that's a good Idea.
