Damn, I've found that now that I've gone and changed the hardwired
.tops... to $base, vTcl changes them back when I load it save it. Plus,
some commands have braces instead of quotes, such as the following,

        text $base.fra23.cpd25.03 \
             -xscrollcommand {.top22.fra23.cpd25.01 set} \

So the braces have to be changed too.

I couldn't find how/where to fix this in the vTcl code. Has anybody made
such a patch?

Stewart - will there be relief from this in the next maintenance release
or the next major release?

I'm kinda hosed now. I've been working on this app off and on for 8 months
(skunkwork) and soon I won't be able to load it into vTcl anymore. :-(
