Open letter to John Kerry

Dear John,
Americans are not looking for someone else to "manage" the war, we are
looking for someone to end the war by bringing all American soldiers home
now. Your criticism of President Bush in today's Washington post for
"mismanaging" does not go far enough.

I will vote for Nader or another third party candidate or not vote at all
before I will vote for any candidate, including you, who supports
American soldiers killing and being killed in this illegal, immoral,
unjust war of agression.

Despite President Bush using extreme methods, including war crimes, to
pursue his war in Iraq the US is not winning. No change in management
will make this a just war and no change in management will allow the US
to win.

Once upon a time you called for ending the Vietnam war with some stirring
words. Ironically you could well be the last candidate to support this
war.

Given your pro-war candidacy, I predict that Bush will outflank you from
the left before the election by declaring that he will bring the troops
home within six months--while you are still talking about better
management. Richard Nixon did exactly that in 1972--and won reelection
against George McGovern, who refused to call for bringing the troops home
now or set a date.
