Greetings CJME members and supporters:

A terrific new opportunity will be coming to Kansas City on Saturday,
November 13. The U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation has
selected Kansas City as the site for a regional organizing conference.

This conference promises to be valuable to activists, not only those
focused on the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, but also on other issues
-- Iraq occupation, disarmament, any issue where you want to
communicate with elected officials and the media...and the public!

CJME, a local affiliate of the U.S. Campaign, invites you to register
for this conference today. Registration cost is low at $20.

In peace,

Matt Quinn
President, CJME

CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT:

The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation and
Citizens for Justice in the Middle East
Invite You to Attend:

LOCAL ORGANIZING FOR NATIONAL CHANGE
November 13, 2004
University of Missouri, Kansas City

A day long conference to share knowledge, build skills, and organize
to end US support for Israel's military occupation of Palestine.

To expand our coalition, strengthen our organizing efforts and reach
out to new constituencies around the country, we are bringing the US
Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation to you through a series of
regional conferences! Our first-ever regional conference will take
place in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, November 13, 2004. Join
the US Campaign and Citizens for Justice in the Middle East, a Kansas
City-based member organization of the US Campaign, for a one-day
conference to enhance grassroots organizing efforts in Missouri,
Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, North and South Dakota, Iowa
and beyond!

Regardless of the outcome of the upcoming presidential election, US
civil society must organize locally and regionally to challenge US
policy toward Israel and Palestine. Currently our government
provides uncritical military, economic and diplomatic support to
Israel's illegal 37 year-old occupation of the Palestinian West Bank,
Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. This policy of support for military
occupation directly contributes to violations of human rights and
prevents the establishment of a just peace between Israelis and
Palestinians. We need to change this policy to support peace,
justice, human rights for all and international law instead. Help us
to make that change by getting involved and attending the conference.

Here are some of things that you can expect by attending the
conference:

* Hear expert presentations about Israel/Palestine and US policy
toward the Middle East
* Find new individuals to participate in your local organizing efforts
* Jumpstart new local organizing efforts in your areas
* Enhance your skills in media outreach, political outreach, and
direct action
* Receive educational materials and resources to disseminate in your
home community
* Formulate a plan of activism that is focused on your region's needs
* Plug into national organizing efforts through US Campaign task
forces

Don't miss this opportunity to participate in the US Campaign's first
regional organizing conference. Space is limited so register today!
