I am delighted to announce to our list that Dr. Miriam Ward, RSM, will receive the Cesar Chavez Award from the St. Michael's College Peace and Justice Program . The Peace and Justice Program at Saint Michael's College is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students to be responsible critics of contemporary society and effective agents for positive social transformation.
The award will be presented to Sister Miriam on Thursday, October 14, at 7:00 P.M. in Cheray Science Hall, Room 101. The event is free and open to the public.

We all know that St. Michael's College could not have chosen a better recipient for this distinguished award than our dear friend and colleague, who has dedicated herself tirelessly and very effectively to working for peace and justice on behalf of people in many far areas of the globe--including Israel and Palestine--as well as those right here at home.
