Next week's forced removal of illegal, yet Israeli government sanctioned,
settlers on that isolated sliver of the remaining Palestinian Mediterranean
coastline known as the Gaza Strip is shaping up to be the best orchestrated
shell game that the Sharon controlled Knesset could possibly engineer.
Can you imagine , after seing screaming and violently resisting Israeli
families being dragged forcibly out of 'their' homes by Israeli army troops that
the world could ever be so mean as to suggest that Israel get out of the really
valuable occupied areas of the West Bank that any contemporary pockmarked map of
hundreds of other illegal Israeli settlements reveal?
How could we even contemplate asking the long suffering Isrealis to return
the much more extensive seized Palestinian lands, under which lie the
only substantial aquifers in the region, or on which the hundreds of mature
olive orchards have been destroyed in their effort to supress and
punish the legitimate Palestinian residents.
It would , of course, be unthinkable and ,I imagine, Ariel Sharon, with $40
Billion U.S. Dollars a year in his pocket, knows this only too well.
