I haven't previously used vtun, but a google search makes it look like it should be able to do what I need.
I'm involved in developing a VM appliance that would be run at a customer's site, possibly behind a NAT, firewall, etc (ie just on some random box at a customer site). Under normal circumstances we have no need to connect to that VM, but we want a phone-home option to use if something goes wrong there. We'd like the VM to be able to initiate a connection back to our server that would give us SSH access to the VM. It sounds like this can be done with Vtun by running a Vtun server locally and having the VM run a Vtun client pointed back to our server, which would then allow us to SSH to the VM via the tunnel. Will this work? Alternately, does anyone on here have suggestions for a simpler solution? - Adam ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get a FREE DOWNLOAD! and learn more about uberSVN rich system, user administration capabilities and model configuration.
