There should be no required configuration on the Vyatta; from the point of view of the router, it's just packets.
The VPN will need to be configured to support NAT traversal, of course, as it looks like you're using NAT. Dropped VPN connections are not likely to be an issue with the Vyatta router, unless there are packet loss issues.
