Hi Tinghua,
As Dave Roberts has mentioned in other recent postings, there is a major infrastructure overhaul that we're going through. Amongst many other benefits these changes will also make it easier to resolve these ipv6 issues. As always you can influence the priority of various features by voting on the community wiki at http://www.vyatta.com/twiki/bin/view/Community/TopEnhancements. stig _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Xu, Tinghua Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2007 6:30 PM To: Stig Thormodsrud; vyatta-users@mailman.vyatta.com Subject: Re: [Vyatta-users] Problem in adding a static route using IPv6address. Thanks a lot! Stig. Is there an easy fix for the problem? Could someone from the development domain have a look at it! Thanks. This sounds like http://bugzilla.vyatta.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1939. As far as I know the ipv6 functionality is still considered experimental and has not gone through any QA yet. stig _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Xu, Tinghua Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2007 2:28 PM To: vyatta-users@mailman.vyatta.com Subject: [Vyatta-users] Problem in adding a static route using IPv6 address. Hi All I'm trying to use Vyatta community version 3 to set up a network for IPv6 testing, the topology is as follows: ----net2---(eth1) R1 (eth0) -----net1----- (eth0) R2 (eth1)-----net3--- I was able to configure the IPv4 addresses for the routers and create a static route for the nets using Ipv4 addresses. For IPv6, I was able to configure the IPv6 addresses for the interfaces and ping each other between the router, however, When I tried to configure a static route using the IPv6 addresses, the creation was OK but failed in commit. I used the following addresses: R1: eth0: 0200:0:0:1:(64 bits interface_id) eth1: 0200:0:0:2:(64 bits interface_id) R2: eth0: 0200:0:0:1:(64 bits interface_id) eth1: 0200:0:0:3:(64 bits interface_id) The command I used to create the static route on R1 is: Set protocols static route 0200:0:0:3::/64 next-hop 0200:0:01:(64 bits interface_id) The error message from the commit command is: Syntax error: last symbal parsed is 0200:0:0:3::/64. I also tried some other 64 bits prefix and didn't succeed. Could someone help on this! Your response is highly appreciated. Thanks! Regards Tinghua
