Dear XMLMind support,
I am using w2x-app on Mac OSX to convert docx to DocBook. The default image

Not really. Simply your DOCX documents happen to contain mostly EMF
pictures. Full explanation below.
which is not a very practical format to convert to something like png on a Mac.
Is there any way to change the default image format to png?
We are well aware of that...unfortunately.
If you end up with ".emf" image files after converting a DOCX document
to XML, it's only because our product cannot convert on the fly this
format to SVG or PNG. This is currently the main limitation of our
product. See "Planned enhancements", http://www.xmlmind.com/w2x/roadmap.html
For now, the only way to workaround this problem is to replace the EMF
pictures in the DOCX document. Please use PNG, JPEG or even better, WMF
replacements. WMF files, which are vector graphics like EMF, are
converted on the fly to SVG files (=standard vector graphics).
Sorry for this limitation.
Thanks,
Kathrin
