You just did, I'm subscribed over here too ;-)

You can get rid of the "No module named newline" error message by
deleting your old config directory:

rm -rf ~/.w3af

Of course, I'm sure there's a less brute force way to do it, but I tend
to do that regularly when upgrading w3af anyhow.  NIce to be off to a
clean start. ;-)

Not sure why w3af is requesting service from the gvfs service (anyone
else?) but you can clear up the message by:
sudo apt-get install gvfs-backends

BTW, if you can wait a few days, there will be a new version of Dojo
with the latest w3af from svn.
