I agree that it looks strangely (especially with only 2 operators: start and 
exit) 
but in same time using of existing scripts support for batch mode is nice idea! 
:)
Because scripts by its original aim are for batch operations. Also it will not 
break 
default usage of profiles both in console and GTK UIs. Plus in the perspective 
scripts are more powerful for batch-mode then simple -P option for profiles. 
Plus we will get possibility to test with scripts profiles.
It were my two coins.
