I think that using metasploit to define w3af isn't a bad idea when you
talk with a friend, but I wouldn't like to write it on a t-shirt. What
if (for saying something) in the future metasploit changes the license
and goes closed source or something like that? People will be
wondering if w3af is closed source too!
