Folks, I just sent this to the Daily, but with early voting going on

When Corporations Ruled Boulder
Editor,
Someday you'll tell your grandkids "When corporations ruled Boulder:
"Neither the Colorado Daily (owned by Scripps Co.) nor the Boulder Daily Camera
(also Scripps) would report that American journalist Brad Will, who'd lived in
Boulder, was shot and killed as Mexican troops stormed Oaxaca on 10/27. Yet,
Pacifica's national news program Democracy Now! devoted much of their hour on
10/30 to Will and the events surrounding his death.
"Neither paper would mention that former Harvard Professor David Korten, author
of .When Corporations Ruled the World. conclaved with over 100 locals on 10/27
about how to evolve past these corporate dinosaurs.
"The Mayor and all (nominally) living former mayors of Boulder would publicly
ally themselves with all the biggest developers and real estate interests to
oppose City ballot issue 2A .Annexation by Vote,. which would modestly extend
Government by the People by letting us vote on large annexations. These
dinosaurs told us what a great job they'd done regulating growth for us, when
it was actually citizens who'd overcome these same special interests, voting in
1959 for the .Blue Line. keeping development off the mountains, in 1967 and
many times since for Open Space purchases, in 1976 for the Danish growth
control plan, and so forth. Needless to say, both Scripps AND Scripps asked us
to vote against empowering ourselves."
Tell your grandkids you weren't sheep: Vote YES on 2A for democracy and
evolution!
