Hi Scott, I was the one who caught the DollyVarden when fishing with Bruce
Carpenter on Friday, March 10. It was caught on a #6 Kelly green carey with
Kelly green hackle. I caught it on the south east side of Whidbey Island
from the beach when the tide was just begining to ebb. We didn't get a
measure on the fish as it released itself as we reached for it to get the
hook out. Just as well. We know it was not injured. I would guess it to
be about 15-16 inches. Its the first one I've ever caught in the salt.
