Last year Leland posted that the best
time on the water was before or after a major tide change.
I have come to realize that this is certainly
the gospel truth, particularly here on Whidbey beaches
with fewer fish. Try to fish here on a whimpy tide change
and have a fishless day. It must be that the sheer volume
of water on a major tide change urges the fish
into quieter water along the edges. Fishing, like life,
is lessons in the obvious.
