Paul,
The gate two miles from the lake was put up by the DNR because of various
things like timber theft, dumping and wildlife harassment, and did not
prevent pedestrian access to the lake. The current problem is a gate
apparently erected by property owners who wish to prevent any access to the
publicly owned DNR land where Ebey (or Little) Lake lies. I remember the
dynamiting of the beaver dam. It was replaced (by the Game Dep't. if I am
not mistaken) with a concrete dam to stabilize the level of the lake.
