Don't feel bad, I had a similar experience at Rufus lake on the Columbia in
my pontoon boat. Well, my experience didn't involve a self-inflicted stab
wound to the pontoon, but rowing out towards the middle of the river one
pontoon began to hiss. Its a good thing it was hot weather and that pontoon
boats have 2 pontoons. I got soaked, but made it back to shore. My leak was
from sand getting into the valve and leaving it in the open position.
