Just a reminder folks: As I mentioned in my post to all listmembers recently, all posts to WAFlyfishers email list should be sent as plain text, not HTML or Rich Text. This is important since messages sent in HTML format can contain harmful viruses. Indeed, just a couple of weeks ago a virus was transmitted via this list containing a virus that subsequently infected several list members PC's. Unfortunately, I'm still seeing the occassional HTML, HTML Multipart or even messages with attachments (which are especially notorious - for instance the Love Bug virus). Following is an excerpt from my May 26th post on Viruses on the List, repeating my cautionary note on using Plain Text mode and the instructions for configuring Outlook Express to do so: ____________________ To send an email message as plain text, just click on the Format button on the message toolbar and select Plain Text. To configure Outlook Express to send emails as plain text by default, go to the Outlook Express toolbar and select Tools/Options/Send and select Plain Text under the Mail Sending Format section. As I've said before, Rich Text/HTML messages are not appropriate for the list in any case, since not all email clients can read them properly. Couple that with the substantial - and growing - risk of spreading destructive viruses via HTML and Rich Text/HTML mode becomes downright unsociable. Expect to get a little "reminder" email from me if we continue to see HTML postings to the list! ____________________ Once again, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me directly. -Wes Wes Neuenschwander Seattle, WA [EMAIL PROTECTED]
