Has anyone had the opportunity to pursue shad on a fly in the states of Washington or Oregon? I remember reading an article several years back about fly fishing for shad in California but haven't heard of any fly fisherman making a sport of them around here. The numbers of shad going through Bonneville (on the Columbia River) are in full stride and so are the fisherman below the dam. I've never been fishing down there but it doesn't seem like it would be the most conducive environment to fly fishing. I guess it would be helpful to find out if there are any smaller rivers or tributaries where the shad spawn. Just though I would throw it out on the list to see if anyone has any information.

Thank you,

Nello
