Greetings from the Arabian Gulf,

Great thread here...

I have a Mustang Floatation Jacket- not a life jacket. Now the numerous
times I have been checked by Fish and Game I received 50/50 comments about
this very issue... I even was once stopped by the Coast Guard (the jacket
is their design) out on Hale's Passage in my pontoon and gave me a "thumbs
up." Then there was a time I was stopped by a Sheriff on Chamber's Creek
and almost cited.. it took a lot of explaining to get out of that one...

As far as legal requirements, any type of water craft requires a life
jacket. However, wearing of the life jacket,
I haven't seen anything difinitive in writing. Maybe it is a judgement call
on the enforcement official... Comments?
