Leland, and all,
Thanks for your info and ideas. We will have access to a boat (a small putt putt)
and hence could even the odds a bit. We'll do a little exploring around and
let you all know if (highly unlikely) we discover anything worthwhile. There
is a small lake (Hummel? ) in the south central part of the island that is
teeming with bluegill and a few trout. I always hit that for a bit of fun
during our trips. If you find yourselves out on Lopez do hit it for a
little dependable fun.

As for the suspected Dolly Varden I didn't notice it was a particularly
sluggish fighter as I was nursing it a bit on 3lb tippet. When I first
brought it to shore it seemed as big as Moby Dick but realistically I guess
about 18" Extremely deep keeled and heavy. I didn't have it in my hands very
long though.

Thanks everybody

Jeff
