Water temp (in Taylor River): 54 deg.
Fished from about 6:30 PM to 9:20 PM

Great evening to be on the river. Before the fish started rising to
naturals the fish were taking stimulators with red in the size 16 range.
The fish started rising to naturals about 20 min before dark and could then
be coaxed with an elk hair caddis. Fish caught were in the 5-9'' range and
were a mix of cutthroat, rainbows, and cutt-bows. Each hole would generally
produce about 2-3 takes then the fish got smart and it was time move on. We
spotted a few fish in the 11-13'' range.

The river and the mountains are so beautiful up that valley. The river was
crystal clear, which made it really easy to see that someone had been
shooting clay pigeons over the river at one of the campsites. I really
enjoy shooting clay pigeons, but it seems like anything that says "don't eat
and don't use where pigs feed" probably shouldn't be in a trout stream.

Get out there and go fishing!
