Fished the Icicle in the evening on 7/21/00 with my wife's uncle. It was
his first time flyfishing and he caught several small fish. I landed about
20 small ones up to about 10". All were caught on a #14 Royal Wulff. Some
may balk at my use of a fly that doesn't match the hatch but I say, "Don't
fix it if it ain't broke." Besides, there wasn't much surface activity so
there wasn't much of a hatch to match.

On 7/22/00 we fished Ingalls Creek. I only landed a few small fish here.
However, my wife's uncle, this time on spinning gear, landed a 23" lunker.
I was across the river so I didn't get a good look at it but he thought it
was a Dolly.

Does this sound possible, a 23" Dolly Varden (or Bull Trout) in tiny little
Ingalls Creek?

Anyway, all the small fish we caught looked like rainbows but they had white
tips on their bottom fins. They were not brookies or goldens. Any other
possibilities?
