Dan,
I've had good success with a diamond grit emery board from the local Drug
Store. I can't remember how much they cost but it's got to be less than
something more macho from the fly shop. I keep one on the tying bench and
one in each of my vests and boat bags. They seem to last a long time, since
I always loose them or give them away before they wear out.
The first one I found, I liberated from near my wife's side of the bathroom
sink. It was by Revlon and has a shaping side with medium grit and a
finishing side with finer grit. I don't think she's missed it yet! Drill a
hole through the plastic handle for a lanyard if you want it to dangle.
