I'm looking for a person locally (Seattle) that may be able to provide me a
value estimate on a couple of bamboo fly rods I own. I know many bamboo
rods are not worth as much as their owners may think; however, I do have
some information these may be worth a little bit. I just want to obtain a
current estimate, as we are updating our household listing for insurance
purposes.
The rods are an Old Faithfull Challenger (my understanding is it was made by
Wright & McGill in the late 40's; comparable to the Granger Lake &
Stream/Challenger models), and the other is a Sewell Dunton Angler's Choice
101.
Also, a friend of mine's father recently passed away, and the father
collected old lures. We are trying to locate someone who collects the lures
who may have interest in them. No bottom fishers, please! But true
collectors (the last comment is not intended to offend anyone; however,
another not-knowledgable-about-lures friend, in a similar situation, was
'cleaned out' by someone who came in and paid pennies for the lures).
Whatever help you can provide would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Richard
